Storytime Performer (Summer 2025)
Job Summary:
We are seeking experienced storytime performers to travel to childcare facilities and public libraries throughout Lee & Elmore counties to present stories, songs and educational enrichment activities for ages 0-5 years. Storytime Performers will be employed as independent contractors under the direction of the Horseshoe Bend Regional Library, receiving $2,500 plus mileage for the term of service (June-July 2025).
Duties:
Deliver captivating storytime performances that entertain and educate.
Engage with children during educational programs, creating a fun and interactive learning environment.
Adapt performances based on audience feedback and engagement levels.
experience:
Background in working with children is highly desirable; experience in educational settings is a plus.
Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse audiences.
Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to various performance styles.
Qualifications:
Required
Valid driver’s license in good standing (CDL not required).
Acceptable background check.
Ability to complete forms and maintain accurate records.
Preferred
One or more years of public library, early childhood education or equivalent experience.
Compensation & Benefits:
$2,500 + mileage
Monday-Friday (Saturday as needed)
Day shift
